Dog Poo on the paths

•November 10, 2011 • Leave a Comment

The Trust and friends are finalising a little poster aimed at dog walkers. The start of the paths are getting spoiled by dogs arriving by car desperate to poo, and owners unprepared to remove it from the track. Let’s hope we can politely get the message across that the Hill is not a place to be messed with!

CH walks booklet

•September 22, 2011 • Leave a Comment

The existing walks booklet has almost sold out and a new edition is now at the printers. This now has two more walks – 7 – because of the arrangement made with the Courtfield estate.
The first walk in the new book is available in eBook format – free – from the Friends of Coppett web site [http://www.coppett-hill.org.uk/books.html], so if you have an iphone or smartphone, it might be useful.

Iron Age Rampage event

•June 1, 2011 • Leave a Comment

At the end of May, at Symonds Yat, the Wye Valley AONB had an event – Iron Age Rampage.

The Coppett Hill Trust were invited to participate. We were provided with a tent so that we could display some boards with information and photos of the work of the Trust. We think we attracted a lot of attention, and visitors were from near and afar. We sold a lot of our walk books and signed up some friends of CH.

The photo shows some of the early volunteers signing up a new ‘friend’ – sorry we are standing in front of the displays and you cannot see them. Ask Lawrie Lowe if you want to have a look or can think of somewhere to display the boards.
